To find my lost dignity

“My name is M.A. The military police of Turkey arrested me in 2000 because I am Kurdish. In prison I was detained locked in a basement cell for 28 days.

Every day they hit me with truncheons and kicked me on the head and all my body. They hung me by arms and cut me with razors and afterwards they put salt on my wounds. Also they whipped my feet and applied electroshock to my genitals. I was subject to all that without me ever having harmed anyone…Today I am in Greece and I hope to find here my lost dignity…”
