Athens, July 6, 2020- The Greek Council for Refugees (GCR) and OXFAM publish in Greek and in English a new bulletin on recent developments at the Moria hotspot in Lesvos, up until June 30, 2020, in the framework of a joint project.
The new Greek asylum system is designed to deport people rather than offer them safety and protection, warned the Greek Council for Refugees (GCR) and Oxfam today. This means that people who have fled violence and persecution have little chance of a fair asylum procedure, and even families with children are regularly detained in inhumane conditions.
The Greek Council for Refugees and OXFAM published their new biweekly bulletin on the situation inside the Moria hotspot, in Lesvos, covering the most significant developments for the period between April 23 and May 14 2020.
The Greek Council for Refugees and Oxfam publish their second news bulletin regarding the situation in Lesvos, amidst the coronavirus pandemic, in the framework of a joint program.
The new briefing for Lesvos prepared by the Greek Council for Refugees along with Oxfam, in the context of the program which they implement together, was published last week (April 1, 2020). From now on, due to the emergency of the coronavirus pandemic, these briefings will be published every 2 weeks, instead of every two months, as it has been until now. You can find the bulletin attached here.
