Place of implementation:

Hungary, Bulgaria, Italy, Greece

Objectives:

The aim of the project is to reduce the illegal detention of asylum seekers and irregular migrants in Europe, mainly targeting the main host countries of the European Union.

Activities:

  • Research and registration of detention and reception conditions for asylum seekers through visits to detention facilities and conducting interviews with detainees.
  • Update each country's profile on the issue of detention and reception conditions.
  • Participation in meetings and trainings with institutions with the aim of exerting institutional pressure.
  • Submit cases to international courts, with the aim of putting pressure on governments and the EU to stop illegal policies and practices.

Results:

The results of the research and interviews conducted in the 4 countries are presented in a report. This research aims, in addition to informing, to use as a tool for further advocacy actions.
