Goals:

To provide legal support and information to persons in need of international protection, with particular emphasis on those in detention in Attica and Northern Greece.

Actions:

  • A team of lawyers and interpreters visit detention centers and provide legal and social support to clients upon written notice from the ICRC.
  • Provide specific legal information and assistance with the aim of facilitating access to the asylum procedure, recording the request, preparing for interviews, submissions, appeals, subsequent requests, family reunification process through Dublin III, cancellation requests international protection and are in custody.
  • Objections against detention before administrative and judicial authorities
  • Providing legal assistance and information to people with special needs in custody
  • Identification of juvenile detainees and providing legal information and assistance.

Results:

Providing legal and social support to detainees in order to facilitate their access to the asylum procedure.
