Provision of Humanitarian assistance to refugees and asylum seekers in Greece

Goals:

The program aims to support 24/7 two Safe Zones in Eleonas, Athens and Alexandria, North Greece and to provide social protection services to the general population in Eleonas and Alexandria Hospitality Structures. The project is implemented with the support of the IRC and funded by the Directorate General for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (DG ECHO - European Union Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid)

Actions:

  • Safe Zones are hosting structures for unaccompanied minors aged 14-18, which operate within open refugee accommodation structures.
  • Each Safe Zone was created as an alternative to booking, and although each has different characteristics, the key element is the provision of 24-hour day care services with psychosocial, psychological, legal and educational support aimed at the best interest of the minor.

Results:

Provide comprehensive social and legal support to 60 unaccompanied minors.
