Goals:

Increasing the capacity of professionals who come into contact with torture victims

Establishment of a rehabilitation unit that assesses the situation of victims of torture and provides psychological support, social rehabilitation and legal advice

Improving the knowledge of the stakeholders about the need for rehabilitation services for torture victims in Greece.

Actions:

  • Creation and Adoption of a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP),

  • Assessment of educational needs and development of educational program,

  • Professional training,

  • Creating a Database,

  • Awareness and information material,

  • Providing services to victims of torture,

  • Training in the evaluation of alleged torture victims,

  • Distribution of results,

  • Website creation,

  • Monitoring and Evaluation of the Rehabilitation Process,

  • Professional Supervisor provides staff support

Results:

As a result of this project, Greece will acquire a pool of trained personnel capable of identifying, evaluating, providing support, advising, rehabilitating and assisting victims of torture to integrate into society.

Second, victims of torture will gain access to a unit of graduate professionals and a variety of free services that address their mental, medical, socio-economic and legal problems
