Providing legal assistance to refugees for the completion of the family reunification process in Greece

   
Actions:
  • Providing legal support throughout the family reunification process for recognized refugees

  • Interventions, submission of applications, representation before the respective authorities, services, embassies.

  • Assistance with the issuance of the necessary travel documents and the whole process of relocation to Greece.

   
Results:

Providing legal support to refugees for the completion of the family reunification process in order to strengthen their integration in Greece.

Goals: This project aims at developing technological tools for improved prevention and investigation of trafficking in human beings and sexual abuse and exploitation of children. Also, it aims at developing tools for improved assistance services to victims of such criminal acts. These tools will be addressed to law enforcement agencies, non-governmental organisations and, more broadly, citizens themselves.
Activities and Deliverables: In the context of this project, the Greek Council for Refugees will carry out a research regarding the learning and pedagogical needs of the end users of the technologies and strategies to be developed by this project, and will prepare a relevant report.
Implementation period: November 2020-March 2022

Place of intervention: Nationwide
Objective: Better equip frontline refugee response actors to accurately record nationality status and improve access to protection for stateless refugees in Europe.
Activities: Conducting seminars on the protection status of stateless persons as well as the specific challenges faced in practice by stateless asylum seekers and recognized refugees.
Results: 2 webinars were conducted; 89 people participated.

Objectives: Capacity building
Activities: Providing support for different actions regarding the development of a new strategy.
Results: In the framework of the project, an internal consultation was carried out, on the strengths and weaknesses of the organization, the opportunities and strengths of the environment in which GCR operates, as well as survey on external audiences (stakeholders), concerning the services offered by GCR.
